ⓘ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: What is the main advantage of this 3-day tour over the 2-day option?
A: The extra day allows for a much deeper and more relaxed immersion into the Amazon. You will have more time for core activities, plus unique experiences like a dedicated jungle hike, traditional piranha fishing, an Amazonian barbecue, and a magical canoe trip through the flooded forest (Igapó).
Q: What is the "flooded forest"?
A: During the high-water season, the Amazon's water levels rise and flood the forest floor, creating a unique and navigable water world known as the Igapó. This tour includes a motorized canoe trip through these serene, flooded trails, offering a completely different perspective of the jungle ecosystem and a chance to get closer to canopy wildlife.
Q: Is piranha fishing safe and is it difficult?
A: Yes, it is a very safe, fun, and traditional activity. Your expert guide will show you how to fish for piranhas using simple bamboo rods and local techniques. It's an enjoyable experience for all skill levels and a great way to connect with local traditions.
Q: What is the best time of year for this tour?
A: This tour is fantastic year-round, with two distinct seasons offering different experiences. The high-water season (approx. April-September) is best for exploring the flooded forests by canoe. The low-water season (approx. October-March) is ideal for longer jungle hikes on newly revealed trails.
Q: What is the Indigenous community visit like?
A: The visit is a respectful and authentic cultural exchange. You will have the opportunity to meet members of a local community, learn about their daily life, their relationship with the forest, and see their unique traditions and handicrafts.
